pricing
Unlike many advisors, my fees are not determined by the amount of your investable assets, I believe this fee structure, commonly between 0.8% to 1.50% of assets under management, suffers from a few serious shortcomings:

-
It is a conflict of interest. The advisor is incentivized to get as much of your portfolio under their management as possible, even if it would better invested elsewhere.

-
It can lead to suprisingly high fees for clients with multiple millions in investible assets. For example, a seemily innocent fee of 1.00% on a $3,000,000 portfolio is $30,000 per year!

For these and other reasons, I charge flat fees.

Most new clients will have an annual fee ranging from $10,000-15,000. Clients with more "complex" circumstances might be quoted higher fees.
